During the photo shoot of this ’64 Chev Malibu, the owner, Andy Smith, commented that sometimes cars just have a mind of their own. That comment was in reference to how a build often evolves into something different from what the owner had first imagined. Having worked as an LVV certifier since the inception of the certification system, and having certified thousands of vehicles in that time, Andy’s statement comes from a decent amount of experience. That’s even before we delve into his own automotive history, which has seen a number of cars bought, evolved, built, and sold over the years.
