ROD runs were relatively new to the hot rod scene in the early ‘70s, but thanks to the catalyst and influence of magazines that a young, fresh and vibrant hot rod fraternity could see the success of the rod run events. The Americans kicked off in 1970 with their NSRA Nationals in Peoria, Illinois, which garnered front cover and a special Street Rod Nationals issue in Rod & Customs November 1970 issue.
