WHAT COMES NEXT?

Defeating former President Donald Trump was relatively easy, even if he failed to concede and spread baseless lies about voter fraud. President Joe Biden won by over seven million votes and he barely left his basement. Winning a campaign is one thing, governing a country that just experienced an insurrection supported by millions of its own citizens on behalf of a former reality game show host might be the hard part. Now that the dust has started to settle over the rotting political corpse that is former-president Trump and his insane administration, we asked some rising progressive stars and activists what we have to do to move forward from this disaster.

We won! And PA, Philly especially, was the clincher. Where were you when the news broke that PA had won the election for the Democrats?

Actually, let me start with the time I knew, because I feel like Joe Biden ended up winning the state a bunch of times, but from my perspective it was clear to me on election night after considering where the outstanding votes were left to be counted, so in that instance I was at home drinking tequila and when it was made official, I was also at home with my fiancé Dr. Matt Miller.

What do we do now?

At this point, we have to deliver for people on things that matter like climate change, gun safety, healthcare, equitable education, and you just go down the list and there are a lot of things we actually need to deliver on.

What’s the first thing you want President Biden to tackle, besides the virus?
