There’s magic in the air in Cappadocia. Whether you are floating above the rock formations in a rainbowhued hot-air balloon or spending the night in a cave hotel, it feels like something straight out of a storybook.

Far from Turkey’s cosmopolitan city of Istanbul or the sparkling Aegean Sea, Cappadocia is set in the semi-arid Turkish heartland of Anatolia. The region is renowned for its spellbinding scenery. Anatolian folklore is filled with tales of peri (fairies) inhabiting the geological wonderland of valleys punctuated by mushroom-shaped pinnacles known as ‘fairy chimneys’.
