t’s been a busy few years for Gibson: I new management, a big overhaul of its approach to the guitars it releases, and as such, some interesting new designs across both it and the
Epiphone stable.
We think it’s fair to say that Gibson is taking note, and there’s no better proof than the acoustic guitars we have before us here. The Generation series is a four-model army, made in the USA at the Bozeman, Montana factory that creates all of Gibson’s acoustics.
The four shapes (G-00, G-45, G-Writer and G-200) offer a size for every playing style, and share the same basic materials: that’s a solid spruce top, solid walnut back and sides, traditional scalloped X-bracing, striped ebony fingerboards, plus third-party appointments including Grover tuners and TUSQ nuts. The necks themselves are made of utile - a wood very close in make up to mahogany.
