IT LOOKED GOOD, smelled good, but any question marks Justin Atkins may have had about a new Berkley PowerBait formula named MaxScent disappeared when he observed a completely random, yet undeniably profound example of what it means to flip a fish’s switch.

A few years back, while working the Berkley seminar tank, Atkins demonstrated an array of baits that included a couple of MaxScent shapes. Introduced in 2017, the MaxScent design boasts a revolutionary new material that releases a supercharged scent field said to be 45% more effective than the original PowerBait formula introduced in the late ’80s.
