read with great interest Scott Fink’s “Fight for the Colors” article in the August 2021 issue. A sidebar describes the 4th Michigan’s fight for its flag. At the end, it states the banner was returned to the state in 1905. In the early 2000s, however, when our reenactment unit was looking to have a reproduction flag made, none of our researchers were able to determine the whereabouts of the Gettysburg flag or what it looked like.
