CHINGFORD’S Liam Dillon produced a remarkable late surge to pip fellow unbeaten Dennis Wahome via majority 10-round decision for the vacant English super-featherweight title on the Goodwins promotion at York Hall.
For me Middlesex switch-hitter Wahome controlled things with his slicker boxing before Dillon, handling the pace better, won the last four rounds to level things at 5-5.
That’s how judge Chas Coakley saw it with his 95-95 card, while Mark Bates had Dillon 96-94 up (presumably 6-4 in rounds). Terry
