The world’s first malaria vaccine

THE World Health Organization (WHO) recently announced a vaccine had been approved to protect children in Africa against malaria. The RTS,S vaccine, also known as Mosquirix, was developed by British pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline and will help to prevent the devastating parasitic disease that invades the body and destroys blood cells.
