Imitation royals JEWELS IN THE CROWN

Netflix TV series The Crown cleaned up at this year’s Emmy Awards, taking home eight of the prestigious trophies, including Outstanding Drama Series. Three of those awards went to the show’s leading ladies, with several other cast members also nominated.

Here’s a look at the women who’ve won praise and plaudits for their portrayals of some very familiar faces.

Olivia Colman

Forget about a trophy cabinet, Olivia Colman must need a whole room in her home to store the numerous awards she’s picked up for her acting abilities. Out of a staggering 98 nominations received since she became a professional actress at age 26, the Broadchurch star has won 57 of them.

Her latest was an Emmy for her role as the Queen in The Crown, which she seemed very surprised to win.
