STAR LETTER WHAT’S IN A NAME?

have just finished the latest issue [Vol 89 Issue 4] and really appreciated the article on Washington Old Hall, the ancestral home of the Washington family. I am the manager of the Mary Washington House in Fredericksburg, Virginia, the magazine. The tidbit about the family surname originally being Hertburn was fascinating. I have to admit that Washington has a better ring to it than Hertburn.
