How to Bavarian Crochet

This pattern makes lovely afghans, baby blankets, shawls, ponchos bags and pillow covers. It is really not suitable for shaped garments.

Don’t let this practice go to waste. Work this practice piece up in 100% cotton and use the finished piece as a dishcloth or make two and sew them together for a pot holder.

The sample is made in Bernat Handicrafter in off-white (A), overcast (B), and pale yellow (C), using a US size I/9/5.5mm crochet hook.

This is a very dense pattern, so I always recommend using a hook size larger than the yarn usually calls for.
