The O Christmas Tree Victorian Sampler

The Victorian era was a progressive time when new ideas about ways to celebrate Christmas were being introduced, and accordingly, some sampler art began to be filled with spot motifs and pictorial designs that illustrated these new ideas in needlework.

The typical format of the English sampler evolved in the early 18th century to become a squarer shape, and ladies began to combine different needlework skills when making their samplers.
