What is it about accountants? But come the weekend, it’s like a Jekyll and Hyde transformation takes place. The calculator gets buried back in the top drawer, the pencil gets dragged away from behind the ear, Xero gets shut down on the computer, and the golf clubs or tennis racquet or tickets to the rugby get busted out.
Unless you’re Danny Wilkinson and you’re the big dog at Wilkinson Business Solutions in northern NSW. When Wilko downs pencils late on a Friday night, his mind turns to two very different passions: dirtbikes and photography. And just like his accounting work, where every column has to balance, Danny does dirtbikes and photography with pinpoint accuracy. His photography has been featured in all of Australia’s leading motorcycle publications, while his deep-seated passion for adventure bike riding has seen him become a fixture on nearly every KTM Adventure Rally staged in Australia and New Zealand in recent years.
His relationship with the KTM Group saw Wilko take part in the first-ever Husqvarna 701 Enduro Trek in Victoria in 2019, where he was the event’s offi cial photographer. Then, when Husqvarna Australia started planning for the second Husky 701 Enduro Trek to be staged in northern NSW in 2020, Wilko, as a Casino, NSW, local, was fast tapped on the shoulder to help plan the route.
