Part of my work is training candidates for the deer stalking certificate (DSC1) qualification. One of the requirements is to assess a candidate’s shooting abilities on deer. This involves shooting into a 5in kill zone on a roe deer silhouette. The target circle cannot be seen at either the 100m or 70m range, so the candidate must know where the zone is.
