IN-TENTS CHALLENGE
Oct 07, 2021
5 minutes
Rachael Woosey, 49, from Braunton, North Devon
Peering out of the window at the tent in our back garden, blowing around in a storm, I panicked.
Because my 10-year-old son Max was sat inside it.
It took all my mental strength to fight my instincts that were telling me to run outside, scoop Max up and bring him back inside for a nice, warm hot chocolate and a hug.
But I knew he’d just tell me to go away.
Max was on a mission, and I knew there was no hope of talking any sense into him.
Is it safe to camp in a storm? I thought, fretting.
My husband Mark, 53, stirred as I paced around anxiously.
‘He’ll be fine,’ he said, seeing how worried I was.
