Upholster a smart forepeak sofa bed

When we bought our 27ft canal boat Osprey last November we found that the previous owner had carpeted the bow area including the squab (the piece of wood and/or foam which fits in the forepeak space to convert it to a double bed). Otherwise the internal space was just covered with soft cushions. I wanted dual use for this area, to be able to sleep there but also, with the squab removed, to have it as a seating space.
