World Space Week

This week it’s:

IN 1999, the United Nations declared that World Space Week should be held each year, from 4-10 October. It is an annual international celebration of space science and technology ‘to the betterment of the human condition.’

When men walked on the moon, I was an enthralled little boy, and since then I’ve been a very amateur fan of astronomy and space flight. But, of course, I’m a gardener first and foremost, so I could not pass up the opportunity this week to celebrate my two favourite subjects. So, let’s take a look at how some plants are connected to space.
