Let’s talk in pubs, not hand over data

I have no intention of giving pub apps my data (News, Issue 614, page 9). In fact, I have no intention of using pub apps at all, nor those in restaurants. Now that restrictions have been lifted, why can’t we just go back to talking to each other again? Remember that? It worked well for millenia, so we shouldn’t scrap it just because of one pandemic.

I’m very much a social creature, so lockdown was hard for me. One of the reasons I missed going to pubs and restaurants was that I enjoyed chatting to the staff and regulars. I’d miss out on that now if I started
