Ordinarily, I let new books sit for a while before I review them, but the latest Whitman effort is just too striking to procrastinate over. I’m referring to Kenneth Bressett’s A Penny Saved: R. S. Yeoman and his Remarkable Red Book. As the title promises, it’s a book all about the history of the venerable Guide Book of United States Coins, also known by the color of its cover as the Red Book.
