Our motorhome
We bought our first campervan in 2005. It was a two-year-old Marquis Sussex, the dealerâs version of an Auto-Sleeper Harmony with everything we thought we needed. After seven yearsâ touring, we decided a small A-class might be nice, so we bought a Rapido 927F. At 6m long, it would still fit in our garden. It was seven years old, so not too big an investment if we didnât like it or found it difficult to drive, as it was so much bigger than our campervan.
We loved it, so started to look for a new one with the same layout. None existed, so we decided to keep it and spend money on accessories, inverter, solar panels, air suspension, etc.
Then, in 2015, Pilote introduced its new Galaxy range with the same layout and size, so we traded it for a new G600L. The size and layout suit us perfectly and, so far, we have travelled 29,000 miles, including in Canada and the USA (Oct 2019, p36).
