Carrot
We cultivate carrots in our garden, but alternatively they can of course be bought. The carrot should be washed prior to being sliced and fed to stock cages and flights. However, we find that if we grate the root and add it to the softfood, the carrot is readily taken, as I explained in my previous articles. Some breeders also feed the carrot tops in addition to the root.
Carrot contains carotene, vitamins B1 and K, and biotin, which are beneficial in the production of feather.
