Ethelbert NEVIN (1862-1901)

thelbert Woodbridge Nevin was an American pianist and composer. Born in Pennsylvania, he began playing the piano by the age of four, is one of his best-remembered compositions. : Here’s another piece where, at the start and at the end, the LH needs to jump over the RH. Always make sure the accompaniment remains light, and the melody – which often appears in the middle register – is as luxurious and as possible. At bar 44, the LH is suggested again for the top notes, but it’s worth exploring all possibilities (the editor, for example, prefers to play the upper notes with the RH). : See markings on the score.
