SUMMERTIME IN IDAHO’S high desert can suck for flyfishers, especially in 2021. The air temps seem to always be in the mid-90s or greater. Most of the streams and lakes are surrounded by crop fields and wind farms. Signs at state and county parks in the region warn of rattlesnakes (I haven’t seen one yet, but it seems like an ideal setting). I’ve also been told certain species of tarantulas have been introduced to quell a recent infestation of hobo spiders (my fear of spiders knows no bounds).
