WITH four contests cancelled within an hour of each other just a few days before this Friday evening show at Liverpool’s Olympia – including an intriguing contest for the vacant Central Area Super-Lightweight title between local Nathan Bennett and Manchester’s Kane Gardner – promoter Steve Wood belatedly and sarcastically renamed it ‘The Nightmare’.

While six mainly competitive bouts proved he hasn’t lost the knack of pulling fights together when circumstance seems destined to thwart him, in the rescheduled headliner.
