What is the story behind Fit for Art and how it all began? Who does what behind the scenes?

The pattern company evolved from Rae Cumbie’s decades of work in the custom sewing industry and her interest in creating wearable art garments. Rae began teaching wearable art classes at a weaving school, and was awarded a grant to develop a jacket pattern for weavers and quilters. She found she needed an easy to construct multi-size pattern for her students that would achieve a good fit quickly so the students could focus on the artful aspects of the fabric and embellishments.
