THE AVERAGE SIDE OF of f-road racing
My decision to enter a State off-road event encouraged some commitment from myself. I had dusted off my 2005 model Yamaha YZ250 and dragged it off to SPMX for some much-need love. I then renewed my Motorcycling Australia competition license, entered the race, ordered some fresh bike graphics with stylish race numbers and notified my wife with plenty of time to book appropriate accommodation. The race weekend was also on Mother’s Day weekend, so I needed to play things right. Not only was I preparing to race for the first time in a long time, I was also executing some admirable management skills.
By Friday morning everything was in order except for my bike graphics. With Australia Post unable to execute the service their business is built on, and with no other option for race numbers, I set about applying some yellow contact to the number plates of my bike for the required backgrounds.
