IT is really for owners of gardens who have little interest in them that articles on labour-saving plants should be written. But then, such people would, I fear, never even get as far as reading the article, whereas readers of Amateur Gardening are unlikely to be deterred from growing a good plant just because it demands a little trouble to get best value from it.
