SLUGGING IT OUT

Slugs and snails are a pest gardeners battle against every year. Overnight they can devour our precious young seedlings we take such good care of, so all that remains the following morning is a slime trail and, if you’re lucky, a half-eaten plant.

Last year when I started gardening, I tried numerous slug defences. But still, every morning when I wandered down to the garden with my cup of tea to check on the vegetables, I’d be greeted with some very sad-looking plants which had hosted an unwanted slug party the previous evening.

So, how can we prevent the slugs munching on
