Anni Domingo, 72, an actor, writer, teacher and director, went back to university in her 50s and has recently written an award-winning debut novel. Anni has three grown-up children and lives in Cambridgeshire.
‘If there’s something you want to do, take that leap’
When I reached the age of 50, I decided I would start learning something new every year. Inspired by my son’s interest, I began learning how to build my own computer. Then, later on, I learned how to touch-type, before throwing myself into short Open University courses, such as The Nineteenth-Century Novel and Shakespeare: Text and Performance.
I thoroughly enjoyed getting my brain working, so much so that I then made the decision to pursue an English Literature degree when I was 55. A further degree in history followed and a masters in creative writing. I
