BEEF AND BACON BURGERS WITH CARAMELISED ONIONS
SERVES 4 PREP AND COOK: 50 MINS
500g beef mince
½ cup dried breadcrumbs
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 tblsps tomato sauce
2 tsps Worcestershire sauce
1½ tsps garlic powder
4 shortcut bacon rashers, trimmed
4 seeded hamburger buns, halved, toasted
¼ cup whole egg mayonnaise
Shredded baby cos lettuce, sliced tomato, beetroot and caramelised onions, to serve
1 To make patties, combine the mince, crumbs, egg, sauces and garlic powder in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Divide into four portions. Shape into 9cm round patties.
Heat a lightly oiled, barbecue flat plate over a medium to low heat. Add the bacon. Cook for about 2 minutes on each side, or until browned. Remove. Cover
