Cut-throats of many colours
AVIARIES, whether indoor or outdoor, as well as spacious breeding cages, are sufficient for keeping cut-throat finches. In an aviary, the birds will appreciate plants to hide in from time to time. Bear in mind, though, that cut-throat finches spend quite a bit of time on the ground, and too wet a surface is not conducive to the birds’ condition. These are quite strong finches which, once acclimatised, can be kept in an outdoor aviary in the winter as well as the summer. If you do that, however, they must then have a night cage that is dry and free of frost and draughts.
