DAILY STARS

“You eat this with your hands which, I can proudly say, my team of heathens is all about.”
“This looks intense, but it’s just a puzzle really, and we have all done at least one since we were 12, surely?”

THIS BOOK’S NAMESAKE is my Instagram account @EveryNightOfTheWeek@EveryNightOfTheWeek, which was originally a space for me to document the dinners I made for my family.

It turns out the daily struggle is real, and we are far better off enjoying it all together than alone. Leading neatly to this book.

So while I transcribe the recipes from my mind, you will also get an insight into the energy of each day of the week, along with thoughts and memories. Monday, for instance, is a wonder of potential and good intentions, but by Thursday we are taking stock of the remaining food in the fridge and any burns we’ve collected along the way.

I encourage you to write amendments all over any recipe you can improve. So for those of you who love to cook, you’ll know which bits to skim, and if you are new to cooking, welcome!

This is an edited extract from Every Night of the Week by Lucy Tweed. Photography by Lucy Tweed. (Murdoch Books, $35).
