FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

This garment was designed as MEDIUM/LARGE.

For XL use a 5mm hook or larger and thick DK.

For SMALL use 4-ply yarn with 3,5mm hook or smaller.

YARN FOR MAIN SWEATER COLOUR

♥ 500g Classic Yarns Viola Cotton DK Colour 26 (off-white/natural; 85% cotton, 15% polyester) OR 1 000 metres of soft yarn (more like 4-ply than thick DK)
♥ Substitute with Elle Pure Gold DK Vanilla, African Expressions Express Yourself Charmed Ecru or Stylecraft Batik DK Cream or any other SOFT yarn.

FOR FLOWERS

♥ 20g Colour 1 Stylecraft Special DK Buttermilk
♥ 20g Colour 2 Stylecraft Special DK Apricot
♥ 20g Colour 3 Stylecraft Special DK Vintage Peach
♥ 20g Colour 4 Stylecraft Special DK Fondant
♥ 20g Colour 5 Stylecraft Special DK Lipstick
♥ 20g Colour 6 Stylecraft Special DK Turquoise

FOR LEAVES

♥ 50g Colour 7 Stylecraft Special DK Apple for leaf under flower as part of square
♥ 20g Colour 8 Kartopu Organica Colour K494 (or any other 4-ply cotton in light lime green)
♥ Any 100% acrylic DK yarn can substitute the above, unless you find the right colours needed in a 100% cotton yarn. Acrylic was used for this piece to create contrast between sweater and flowers.

FOR DETAIL

♥ Variety of coloured and/or variegated 4-ply yarns for hearts of anemones and stamen of flowers

FOR TRIM

♥ Black 4-ply or fingering yarn to finish off sleeves and join squares (eg Scheepjes Our Tribe Blackberry Black)

HOOKS AND NOTIONS

♥ 4mm crochet hook or hook to achieve correct gauge for squares
♥ 3,5mm crochet hook for leaves
♥ size 18 tapestry needle (Chenille – sharp point)
♥ scissors
♥ 5 stitch markers in colour A per square
♥ 5 stitch markers in colour B per square (Stitch markers can be substituted with coloured yarn, paper clips, safety pins, etc)

NOTE: After making 2 squares, you are likely to recognise spaces where stitches are worked. Please do not buy 120 stitch markers, rather improvise.
