TURKINGTON GETS THE BALL ROLLING AGAIN
Tough weekends at both Brands Hatch and Oulton Park had left Colin Turkington in unfamiliar territory in the British Touring Car Championship standings as the series headed for Knockhill and the halfway stage of the 2021 season.
A second win of the year – and a further podium finish – later and Turkington left Scotland having brought himself firmly back into the championship picture although he would probably have preferred it if Ash Sutton’s Laser Tools Racing Infiniti and Tom Ingram’s Excelr8 Hyundai hadn’t taken the other two victories.
As usual, the three races would prove to be action-packed around the tight and twisty circuit and ensured that a packed crowd were royally entertained as Knockhill opened its gates to a capacity crowd for the first time since the onset of the pandemic.
