Plant-based pooches

My hope for my rescue dogs I share my life with is that they can match Bramble the inspirational Border Collie who lived to just over 25 years old. Known as the ‘dog who wanted to live forever’, Bramble’s extraordinary tale is documented in a book of the same name written by her human companion Anne Heritage, who fed Bramble a big bowl of vegan food every evening. At the time of her passing, Bramble was the world’s oldest living female dog, and her story catches a thought on how to facilitate longevity in the animals that live with us, a want that is now growing fast amongst us. Following on from last month, I continued to meet some of the people and dogs who are quietly driving this compassionate canine movement.
