They’re best mates in real life and were cousins on Shortland Street. Now actors Jayden Daniels, 27, and Lionel Wellington, 20, are onto their second season of playing brothers, high school rugby stars Mana and Tai Roberts, on the award-winning Three series Head High. The local talents talk to Woman’s Day about broken bones, rugby skills and school balls…

How did you guys become besties?

This beautifulbrought us together. I was only 16 and nervous as heck about joining the cast, but Jayden looked out for me, making sure I felt comfortable and welcome. I’ll always be grateful to him for having my back.
