It’s time government started believing its own statistics

The events of July notwithstanding, it is remarkable that South Africa is a stable and peaceful nation, with 7,2 million people unemployed and a further 3,1 million having lost the will to look for work. Nearly half of the population is considered chronically poor, and a quarter of the population goes to bed hungry daily.
