The Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD (Model A057) for full-frame Sony E-mount cameras offers a surprisingly compact and lightweight design for an ultra-telephoto zoom lens. During my testing with the lens, paired up with the Sony a7R IV, it continually impressed me in terms of optical performance and autofocus.

The lens works well for many situations, provided you have enough light for the somewhat slow maximum aperture. I primarily used the lens for wildlife photography. What’s perhaps most impressive about the Tamron 150-500mm is that it delivers high-end performance at a very affordable price of $1,400. That’s not inexpensive, but it’s a terrific value in the realm
