Antifouling a saildrive

Q I have just acquired a Westerly Konsort with a Bukh saildrive, and I’m looking for a long term antifouling solution that is as kind to the planet as possible. Coppercoat springs to mind.

The Coppercoat website states that it can be used on saildrives provided they have been epoxied first.

The Bukh manuals state that the saildrive must be painted in ‘special Bukh saildrive paint’ which I assume is a high build epoxy primer, and then coated in the antifouling paint used to cover the rest of the hull.
