Lavender

Pro grower Simon Charlesworth of Downderry Nursery introduces some top varieties

Lavenders prefer full sun, poor, well-drained soil and a jolly good prune after flowering. Remove the flower heads, stems and a third of the foliage each year to maintain a bushy habit. Aside from smelling wonderful, all lavenders are great for bees; a few square metres of lavender can feed a colony of 50 to 100 bumblebees for several weeks.
