BARKLEY BITES AGAIN

Once again, since its inception in 1986, The Barkley Marathons were held at Frozen Head State Park in Wartburg, Tennessee, and concluded with zero finishers this year – for the third time in a row.

his year’s edition didn’t feature the typical international fanfare that the five-loop, approximately 125-mile course has become known for. It did, however, feature the only three-time finisher from Salt Lake City, Utah, Jared Campbell, as well as a strong contingent of American runners including the 2019 Big’s Backyard champion, Maggie Guterl, along with Jamil Coury, Courtney Dauwalter, Luke Nelson and Liz Canty.
