This year’s alternate course was mostly singletrack, from Auburn Overlook uphill to China Wall OHV on the Western States Trail. Runners encountered the most scenic and difficult sections of the Western States Trail through the infamous canyons. Views include panorama vistas of the Sierras through beautiful oak and pine canopied forests on some of the fastest descents and steepest climbs anywhere.
