PAUL ZERDIN

“My neighbour thinks there’s a family of six living next door, because I’m doing these voices all the time and learning all the new material,” Paul Zerdin tells me with a chuckle. “I think you’ve got to be slightly mad to be a ventriloquist. Slightly.” The winner of 2015’s America’s Got Talent is enthusiastically telling me about his new touring show, Hands Free. He’s talking quite quickly, with ideas zooming in and out of the conversation. Obviously, there’s some excitement about the prospect of live performances. In rooms full of people. It’s somehow become a novelty.

And although this new show does lightly touch on some of experiences will be giving audiences a glimpse into a spiralling reality where almost anything can talk to you.
