    Standing outside the front of the busy construction site, we admired all the handiwork.

    ‘It’s looking so good!’ my mum, Mel, 44, smiled.

    Mum and my stepdad, Michael, 52, were building our brand-new family home and we had stopped by the site to check out the progress.

    As it was just 15 minutes from our current home in Robina, Qld, we came over often to watch it grow. And it was really taking shape.
