THE SUN SHINES ON SHELSLEY AS IT INDULGES IN A WEEKEND OF NOSTALGIA
The sun blazed down on Shelsley Walsh as the annual Classic Nostalgia weekend entertained a healthy crowd.Araft of period cars contested the classes but the undoubted highlight were the rally cars from the Ralli22 movement.
Aside from timed competition on the hill, there were demonstration runs by an eclectic range of cars, owners’club gatherings, live music and even an air display to add to an overall party atmosphere.
Despite an entry reduced by Goodwood casualties, there was still a good field of rally cars from the Group B, GroupAand early WRC eras. Will Nicholls topped Saturday with a 32.95 seconds best in his Subaru Impreza WRC but Niall Moroney needed only one timed run on Sunday in his similar car to set the mark at 31.89s.
From the other classes, George Brown really attacked the hill in his Mallock Mlk17 to be the only sub-30s runner all weekend and he did it four times in two days with a best of
