One of the first things you can do to help speed up your PC or laptop’s performance is to check what power plan you are running. Head to ”Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.” This should show a list of preset power plans. To see all available options, click the drop-down arrow labeled “Show additional plans,”]. If using a laptop, ensure you are plugged in when using this setting, otherwise your battery life will be no better than that of an iPhone 4. Yikes. Switch back over to “Balanced” when unplugged to preserve your battery life.
