Achieving a DREAM
When compiling an article upon a certain common theme (in my case classic scooters) there are only so many words you can use to describe the chosen subject; this is just the way it is with the format of the features.
This throws up the problem of repetition and the overuse of certain words of which I am more than guilty.
For instance, when describing how good the paintwork of a particular scooter looks, there are certain fashionable ‘buzz-words’ (a word or phrase, often an item of jargon, that’s fashionable at a particular time in a particular context) which tend to get used, or overused, such as ‘blooms in the daylight’. But the one that I tend to use on a regular basis – and quite like, to be honest – is ‘pop’!
Regarding Dave’s Rally build, I did know about it, but at that point in time all I knew was that he wanted the nice Vespa Rally he’d always dreamt of. But when I did eventually see him ride up on it at a small rally in Sheffield (a few years back now) the only words I could use to describe just how good the paintwork looked in the midday sunshine was that the
