THE joy of a wallowing hippo, the savagery of a lion hunt, the tenderness of a giraffe’s love for her newborn, and the touching bond of a man and a pangolin. All this and more are captured in the winning images of the 2021 Africa Geographic Photographer of the Year competition.
Judges selected winners from 25 000 entries, using as their guide an image’s ability to tell a story, evoke an emotion and capture the essence of the continent.
