Have a go hero

Talking with John Fish about his two cars, it soon became obvious he’s not one to shy away from a challenge. “I’ve always been one of those ‘if he can do it, then I can give it a go’ types,’ he says in his typically deadpan way. But he does a little bit more than just give it a go, and has been giving it a go for over three decades now, culminating in two very different hot rods sitting side by side in his garage.

“It all starts with my dad really,” explains John. “Long since passed I’m afraid, but I remember going to car shows as a family, me getting inspired by anything with a V8 and Jag’ rear end.”

A self-confessed hoarder, of the ‘you never know when it might come in useful’ variety, rather than the collecting stuff you have no intention of ever using type, John still has the welder he bought when he was 17 and, up until quite recently, a long defunct Morphy Richards toaster.
